Job Summary

  • Title: In-home Senior Support Worker
  • Term: Permanent
  • Hourly rate: $24.0
  • Working hours: 30.0-35.0 Hours/Week
  • Working schedule:
  • Regular hours: 7:00 am-13:00 pm (position 1) & 13:00 pm-19:00pm (position 2)
  • Special requirements: early mornings required, weekend and on call may require.
  • Work location: Private household (Kamloops, BC, V2C 1N3)

Our family (Maxine and Victor Yeh) is seeking two dedicated in-home support workers to care for our elderly parents, who are living with chronic illness.

The position is structured in two shifts (morning and afternoon) to ensure continuous support. We are looking for compassionate caregivers who can provide essential daily care and assistance as well as high-quality companionship to enhance our parents’ well-being

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Completion of high school is required
  • Previous experience in elderly care or related work is an asset.
  • Good communication skills in English, Mandarin is an asset
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to respond calmly in emergencies.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is an advantage (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Physically able to assist with lifting, walking support, and daily activities.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with seniors.
  • No less than 6 months related work experience.

 


Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer bedside and personal care
  • Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
  • Assist with daily activities like walking to stay active
  • Launder clothing and household linens
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Provide high-quality companionship
  • Prepare meals including special diets if required
  • Assist and remind with daily medications and simple health tasks such as blood pressur3 checks
  • Monitor and record health condition, communicate promptly with employer-especially in case of emergencies
