Job Description:

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the work of other plasterers and drywall installers

Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster on walls, ceilings, and other surfaces

Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure proper setting

Cut and install metal corner beads to reinforce and protect exterior corners

Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings

Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife

Finish corners and angles and apply decorative designs in the finish coat, if required

Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets

Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim

Position and secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists

Smooth out excess compound and allow it to dry properly

Apply coats of stucco to exterior building surfaces using a trowel or spray equipment to create weatherproof finishes

Cut openings in lath for ventilation, piping, ducts, and electrical outlets

Install metal stud framing and furring for drywall or plaster walls and ceilings using hand and power tools

Prepare wall and ceiling layouts according to blueprints and specifications

Estimate material quantities and project costs for assignments
