Certification with the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) may be required
Proven experience in occupational health and safety management, preferably within the entertainment or events industry
In-depth knowledge of electrical safety standards and practices
Understanding of light show production processes and related equipment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees at all levels
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to proactively identify and address safety concerns
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Relevant OHS certifications preferred (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), National Registered Safety Professional (NRSP))
Note: This role demands a high level of attention to detail and adaptability in fast-paced, dynamic environments. The OHS Manager must be comfortable operating in both office settings and on-site event locations.
Job Description: Occupational Health and Safety Specialists – Key Duties
Lead comprehensive workplace audits and investigations in response to safety concerns, incidents, and accidents
Conduct regular inspections to ensure that equipment, materials, and production processes comply with safety and health standards
Develop, implement, and maintain occupational health and safety programs—including standard operating procedures, policies, and training modules—to mitigate risk and promote a positive safety culture
Initiate and enforce compliance measures for workplaces that contravene organizational or governmental health and safety regulations
Provide targeted training and education to employers, employees, and, where applicable, the general public on workplace safety protocols and best practices
Communicate effectively with and influence key decision-makers and workers to ensure sustained adherence to health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements
